2020 has certainly been a year of reflection! In everyone's search for meaning, it is no surprise that visual artists dug deep and produced the most brilliant and thought provoking artwork perhaps ever!
Consider giving art this holiday season as it will bring happiness to your walls, family and home as we all bunker down into hibernation for a couple more Covid months!

BHAT BOY'S HOMETOWN - Nov 5, 2020

"When I was a teenager Ottawa seemed full of discovery and exciting new places and the air rang with 'skipping vibes' on fresh sunny days. In this series of paintings I tried to capture my own sense of experience as life unfolded in front of me as well as the naivety that came with it. I threw caution to wind, and went against the advice of my grade two teacher and art hero, Mrs Kostach, and painted lollipop trees."- Bhat Boy

Much in Lorena Ziraldo's work continues to amaze us. The love of colour & paint; you sense a joy in the use of paint itself. We cannot help but be engaged by Ziraldo’s paintings. Her artistic career continues to elevate and excite! ”Ziraldo is a HUGE TALENT!”- Ottawa Art Collector

"Guiding Lights" is a new collection of works which reveal how Marok interprets the interconnections of life recognizing the similarities rather than the differences of how kindred spirits are revealed. They are derived from his belief that what is most personal is also most universal. The works, a mix of small and large scale oil paintings, focus on landscapes, figures and still life. Canadian artist, John F.Marok is an accomplished, full-time painter working and exhibiting for over forty years across Canada!

Denise is a mixed media artist who sees beauty all around her be it her delightful garden of flowers, antique quilts, colorful bowls or the beautiful buildings scattered around the experimental farm. As the pandemic hit, Denise's inspiration shifted to just flowers and painting little fantastical magical paintings that brought her joy. This whimsical and happy exhibition of works includes 50 small paintings of flowers to make up a stunning "Wall of Flowers". Each painting would make a perfect gift for yourself or someone special to spark some joy!

Orange Art Gallery presents artist/gallery owner Matthew Jeffrey in his 2020 Solo Exhibition "The Right to be Different". Jeffrey is both a master airbrush artist and metal sculptor finessing his techniques in this collection of 14 large scale works. "Fluid, Beautiful and Shocking, Matt has golden hands and can make that airbrush dance!"- Ingrid Hollander (Curator/Owner, Matt's Wife and #1 Critic)
His subject matter is a "mixed brew" portraying the likes of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Willie Nelson, Snoop Dog and Frida Kahlo. Then his attention shifts to portraits of bull dogs, vintage toys and animated characters. Intricate metal sculptures complete the show!

In his series “VAN GOGH-RAMA”, a title that can be understood as an over-attention to or an exaggerated praise of Van Gogh, Mathieu Laca digs with humor into his own fascination for the Dutch painter. Without a doubt, this is Mathieu Laca's most vibrant, surprising and playful collection of works!

‘New Focus’ is the title of a painting I had done in 2015, which has served as the initial inspiration for this new show. It was based on amazing flower photography in vibrant colours, and the show included themes of cloud-filled skies and birch forests.

The connection between cities and humans is a subject that comes up every time I prepare for a show. And I was going that way also with this one…
But something happened, something that paralyzed me for a while and made me totally reset my life. The Pandemic hit me and for a while I was in limbo not knowing which way to go.
Slowly a feeling emerged, the need to see growth. Growth gave me hope and I decided to show it by painting trees. Colorful lively brilliant trees as a symbol of Mother Nature teaching us valuable lessons. Almost like giving civilization a second chance, an opportunity to grow and rediscover the true meaning of our lives.
